We really don’t eat popcorn for breakfast everyday 😉

The perfect trio … Popcorn, Canadian Maple Syrup and BACON!

Definitely a special occasion trio and perfect for sharing!

Ingredients

6-8 cups air popped popcorn
½ cup pure Canadian maple syrup + 2 tablespoons
6-8 slices of bacon – cooled and chopped
*1 tablespoon bacon fat (reserved from baking sheet)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees

Place 6 – 8 strips of bacon on a lined baking sheet – drizzle with the 2 tablespoons of Canadian maple syrup – place in preheated oven until crispy – approximately 8-10 minutes

Using a large mixing spoon, lightly coat the inside of a bowl or a casserole dish large enough to hold the popcorn with the *reserved bacon fat. Combine the popcorn and bacon in the greased bowl. Set aside.

Place maple syrup, in a heavy-bottomed, non-reactive sauce pot over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium low and continue boiling until the mixture reaches 236 degrees on a candy thermometer or approximately 2-3 minutes.

Drizzle the maple syrup over the popcorn. Working quickly, stir with greased mixing spoon until all popcorn is coated with maple syrup.

Cool and store in airtight containers in the fridge or enjoy immediately!
